Obituary of Retha Lucille Wright

Retha Lucille Wright,

81, of Terra Alta, died on Wednesday August 22, 2018 at the home of her daughter and family in Edinburg, VA.

The daughter of the late Charles Ballard and Estella Calhoun Varner, she was born March 20, 1937 in Charmco, WV.

She was a member and teacher at both Whitedale Brethren Church and Crellin United Brethren in Christ Church. More recently she has attended Grace Baptist Church in Woodstock, VA.

She is survived by a son, Randy F. Wright of Pittsburgh, PA; a daughter and spouse, Milinda Kay Wright and Todd Sypolt of Edinburg, VA; the first grandson, Shawn C. Keiper and nine additional grandchildren: Lori and Brian Ashby, Tonya, Talon and Summer Sypolt, Megan, Tyler, Ryan and Miranda Wright; eight great grandchildren, Stephen Ashby, Bronson and Lincoln Taylor, Aliya Keiper, Lucas, Donovan, Tristan and Madalyn Johnson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Francis Ray Wright in 2009; daughter, Sherry D. Ashby and eight siblings.

Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta on Friday from 5-8:00 p.m. and at the Whitedale Brethren Church from 10:00 on Saturday, August 25, 2018 until the 11:00 time of service with Pastors Stanley Waybright and Ken Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Terra Alta Cemetery.
