Obituary of Russel Beckman

Russel William Beckman, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at his home in Eglon, WV. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born April 10, 1941 in Eglon, WV, he was the son of the late Kenneth Woodrow and May Evelyn (Fike) Beckman. Russ was a devoted member of the Brookside Church of the Brethren where he served in numerous capacities. He spent the majority of his career working in various areas of the dairy servicing industry. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1965. Russ was a very loving and generous person to so many. He loved to spend time with his family. He enjoyed farming, woodworking, hunting, and gardening. Russ was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed. Russ is survived by the love of his life, Donna (Watts) Beckman. They enjoyed 49 years together. He is also survived by his three children: Julie Gibson (Shawn) of Terra Alta, WV, Tonya Sines (Clark) of Eglon, WV, and Rhett Beckman (Amanda) of Berkeley Springs, WV; five grandchildren: Connor and Maylen Gibson, Alexis and Sabryn Schoolcraft, and Greyson Beckman; four siblings: Regina Donham, (the late Harley Donham), Grafton, WV, Victor Beckman (Ruth), Hambleton, WV, Robert Beckman (Judy), Terra Alta, WV, and Shirley Lipscomb (Guy), Eglon, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at the Aurora Memorial Building on Sunday from 3-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 on Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Brookside Church of the Brethren until the 11:00 time of service with Pastors Mark Teets and David Knotts officiating. Burial will follow in the Eglon Cemetery.
