Obituary of Julie Ann Shillito

Julie Ann Shillito, 58, of Terra Alta, WV, passed away Friday, January 10, 2025. Born October 6, 1966, in Kingwood, WV, a daughter of the late Jeanene Ann (Frankhouser) Shillito and Jay R. Shillito (Sue Peddicord Shillito) of Kingwood, WV. Julie was a 1984 graduate from East Preston High School. She attended WVU and Fairmont College earning a bachelor's degree in social work. Julie worked at Hopemont State Hospital from 2005 to the time of her illness. Although Julie loved what she did, her true calling was art and crafts, which she enjoyed doing even in her final days. It gave her a sense of comfort and was her way of relaxing. In addition to her father and stepmother, Julie is survived by her siblings, Jenee Shillito of Hot Springs AK, Josie Shillito and Jim Shillito (Shelly Rexroad) both of Terra Alta; nephews, Matthew Shillito of Morgantown, and Daniel Shillito of McHenry, MD; stepsiblings and their families, Jill Peddicord (Clark) of O'Dell, FL, Mike Peddicord (Suzanne) of Kingwood, and Jay Peddicord (Lisa) of Bruceton Mills. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Julie's cousins, Kim Frankhouser Powell and Josie Feeney Britton, nephew, Matthew, and many friends and coworkers for their help with Julie's care, special visits, and comfort during her battle with cancer. Cremation services will be provided by the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta, WV. No services are planned at this time.
