Obituary of Beverly Jean Short

Beverly Jean Short, 85, of Morgantown, WV, peacefully entered the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New Castle, PA on August 4, 1939, the daughter of the late John and Freda (Frazier) Thompson. Beverly graduated from Union High School Class of 1957 and then attended Youngstown University Class of 1962, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in education. For 30+ years Beverly dedicated herself to inspiring and shaping the minds of countless students, the last 20 years were at East Fairmont High School. She leaves a legacy of kindness, dedication, and a deep love of learning. Outside of teaching, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a devout Christian. Beverly was a longtime member of the Sabraton Baptist Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Beverly will be missed dearly. Beverly is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, John Short of Morgantown; two sons, Brian Price and his wife, Janet Lowe-Price and David Price and his wife, Kerri Gunn; one daughter, Eileen Peeples; and seven grandchildren, Andrea, Hayden, Erin, Emma, Endsley, Ian, and Emma. To honor her wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta. A memorial service will be held at Sabraton Baptist Church later during the summer.
