Obituary of Virginia Mae Wilhelm

Virginia Mae (Rumer) Wilhelm, 93, of Terra Alta, WV, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at home.

She was born September 27, 1930, in Aurora, WV, a daughter of the late Guy Harold Rumer and Myrtle Elsie (Bowman) Rumer.

Virginia was a homemaker, having the most important job taking care of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Before she was married, she worked at the Dunnington Hotel in Terra Alta. She enjoyed quilting, but her favorite activity was spending time with family.

Virginia is survived by a son, Norman Lee Wilhelm and wife, Debra; three daughters, Alma "Cookie" Robinson, Veronica Kay Reckart and boyfriend, Timothy Skipper, and Pamela Doreen Reckart and husband, Jimmy; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Rumer, and sister-in-law, Carol Rumer.

In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Elwood Wilhelm, in 1985; two brothers, and two sisters.

Friends may call at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta, WV, on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 12:00 pm until the 1:00 pm time of service with Pastor Carrie Hoff officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Terra Alta.
