Obituary of Edward Emil Peters III

Edward E. Peters III  of Terra Alta, known to family and friends as Tim, passed away in his home on Thursday, June 27, 2024.

He was born in McKeesport, PA on July 15, 1926 to Edward E. Peters, Jr. and Gladys S. Peters.

He was a graduate of Mercersburg Academy. Following his service in the Army during World War II, he received degrees from Yale University, the University of Bridgeport, and West Virginia University, where he received his PhD in Economics. He retired from teaching at Fairmont State College.

Tim enjoyed a long and healthy life and a long and happy marriage to Nancy P. Peters. He is survived by his four daughters; M. Anne, Kathryn L., Terry A., and G. Christine and three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to his dear friends and care givers Tom McConnell, Cheryl Cramer, Joanna Gank, and Odette Teeter. Thanks also to Terra Alta Ambulance Squad, Terra Alta Volunteer Fire Department, Dr. Roger Lewis, and Cranberry Medical Clinic.

To honor his wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta and no services are planned.
