Obituary of Harland James Freeland
Harland James 'Jim' Freeland, 90, of Terra Alta, WV was called to Heaven on May 23, 2024, from his home where he was surrounded by his family.
He was born October 5, 1933, to the late Harland F. and Lucy (Parsons) Freeland.

Jim was proud of his 140-acre family farm found in the countryside down a rough and winding road filled with spectacular views and fields. He enjoyed working the farm with his sons, grandsons, great-grandsons, and many nephews instilling a hard work ethic in all of them. He also liked his time in the woods harvesting many deer.
Family was a great deal to Jim. He always had an ear to listen to our crazy life stories. He too, would have a good story to tell about the good old days.
He is survived by his loving children and spouses Jeff & Debbie Freeland, Jennings Freeland, Ann & Richard Nine, and Lucia & Forrest Curren; all of Terra Alta, WV and Larry & Janet Freeland of Oakland, MD; one daughter-in-law, Karen Bell Freeland of Terra Alta.
He was blessed with many grandchildren: Jamie (Rodney), Amanda (Wade), Brandy (Jeff), Katie (Dave), Michael, David, Kaylan (Jason), Mallorie, Brittany (Dain), James (Kyria) and Johnathan (Lynsey); several great-grandchildren Cody(Ashley), Hunter, Andrea, Ryan, Carter, Connor, Ella, Ava, Landon, Madison, Cora, Trader, Harley, Ethan, Kenleigh, Grayson, Lainey, Harland, Grace and baby Bristol to arrive in August, and one great-great grandchild, Cooper.
He is also survived by sisters-in-law Joyce Jean McGinnis of Tennessee and Dorthy Bolyard of Kingwood, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
When Jim departed from earth, we rejoiced for him as he was soon reunited with his wife, Harriet Virginia (Bolyard) Freeland of 70 years and youngest son James Harland 'Jimmy' Freeland.
In addition, he was preceded in death by his siblings and spouses Robert & Dot Freeland, Donald & Charlotte Freeland, Maxine and Ralph Feather and John Jennings and Genevieve Freeland.
