For more than 40 years, I called on Charlie to update me on the weather in Preston County, and along the way learned much local history and lore from him. He cared greatly about his community and the people in it. His professionalism was unmatched, and he had a kind soul and great sense of humor. I will think of him when the snow begins to pile up gently or storm clouds unleash the rain. He was a wonderful man.
