Obituary of Dolly Jane Moats

Dolly Jane Moats, 84, of Terra Alta died Tuesday January 9, 2024 at Garrett Regional Medical Center with loving family by her side. The daughter of the late William Henry and Lucy Alice Bowman Murphy, she was born September 23, 1939, in Turner Douglas. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family of 12 brothers and sisters. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by three daughters, Eva (Eric) Woodward of Georgia, Becky (Rey) Santos of Stephens City, VA and Audrey (Raymond) Sherwood of Terra Alta; four sons, Clarence Moats, Jr. of Front Royal, VA, Rick Moats, Sonny Moats and Tim (Kim) Moats, all of Terra Alta; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence A. Moats and a son, Eugene Moats. Family and friends will be received at the Living Hope Church in Corinth on Friday January 12, 2024 from 4-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday January 13,2024 until the 11:00 a.m. time of service with Chaplain Rodney Powell officiating.
