Obituary of John Henry Daley

John Henry Daley, 76, of Terra Alta died Monday January 1, 2024 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown with family by his side. The son of the late Dr. Daniel J. and Margaret "Greta" M McCormick Daley, he was born in Scranton, PA on June 10, 1947. John attended the Crellin Assembly of God Church in Oakland. He was an educator for over 30 years. He and his wife retired to Terra Alta in 2000 and he loved the mountains. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting, he was a collector and liked to travel. He was an avid reader and was a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan. He loved being American and was very patriotic and liked to keep up with politics. John idolized his grandchildren and was also an animal lover. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Susanne L. Daley; a son, Eamon (Tina) Daley of Idaho; three daughters, Michelle (Jacob) Witmer and Greta (Anthony) Collins all of New Jersy, and Elizabeth Larcher of Terra Alta; a brother, Dr. Daniel (Rosie) Daley of PA; a sister, Patricia Daley and spouse Bill Bawcombe of MD; 11 grandchildren: Breanna, Madelynne, Noah, Rowan, Liam,, ArriBelle, AnnaBelle, Eamon, Erin, Hera and Isla; and two great grandchildren, Finnegan and Ophelia; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta from 12:00 noon on Friday January 5, 2024, until the 1:00 p.m. time of service with Pastor Skip Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
