Obituary of Robert Chester Jones

Robert Chester Jones, 93, of Cranesville, died Friday October 27, 2023 at Dennett Road Manor in Oakland. The son of the late Marshall Jacob and Helen Ross Jones, he was born October 15, 1930 in Whiteford, MD. He was a longtime resident of Herndon, VA and retired to Cranesville over 40 years ago. He was a custom carpenter. He is survived by three daughters, Mary Ellen (Dennis) Harringer of Kissimmee, FL, Connie L. (Sandy) DeWitt of Cranesville and Barbara L. Jones of Terra Alta; seven grandchildren, David, Patrick and Susan D'Arcy, Robert and Phillip DeWitt and Nicholas and Zachary Simon; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Bernice Alene Jones in 2019 and a son, Robert Steven Jones.
