Obituary of Sandra Kay Smith

Sandra Kay "Susie" Smith,

70, of Oakland, died Sunday October 8, 2023 at her home.

The daughter of the late Harvey James and Emma Louise Lantz Huffman, she was born June 9, 1953, in Thomas.

Susie was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved reading, being outside swinging, rocking, and listening to music.

She is survived by two sons, Dale Smith and Carolyn Pritt of Valley Bend, WV and Jimmy (Edie) Smith; six grandchildren, Tiffany and Zack Smith, Ashley Reckart, Jimmy B. Smith III, Angela Setler and Patrick Smith; 8 great grandchildren, Jermaine, KinLeigh, Madison, Creedence, Lily, Kinsley, Ryder and Laiken; four sisters, Ruth Keith of FL, Linda Lycliter of Parsons, Jenny Moats of Terra Alta and Mary Moats of Aurora and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Smith Sr.; one brother, Jimmy Huffman and two sisters, Sherry Walter, and Delores Cox.

Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta on Wednesday October 11, 2023 from 11-1:00 time of service with Rev. Todd Rhodes officiating. Cremation services will follow with burial at a later date in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Thomas, WV.
