Obituary of Harold Wesley Sypolt

Harold Wesley "Hayseed" Sypolt, 77, of Aurora, formerly of Bretz, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023, at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born February 12, 1946, in Ruthbelle, WV, a son of the late Dailey Russell Sypolt Sr. and Twila Katherine (Poling) Sypolt.

Hayseed was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a graduate of Terra Alta High School class of 1964. He worked in the coal mines for over 40 years and had retired from the Peabody Coal Company. He served his country in the US Army reserves. Hayseed loved going to the stockyard on Fridays and spending time with his friends there. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, rather it was playing cards or having a cookout.

He is survived by one daughter, Barbara Paugh and Ronnie of Aurora; one son, Jeff Zuccari of Fredericksburg, VA; one brother, Dailey "Hussy" Sypolt of Terra Alta; five grandchildren, Raven Zuccari, Zachary Armstrong, Myles Paugh, Katie McKinney and Carrmichael Myatt; one great grandson, Grayson Armstrong; several nieces and nephews and his dog, Midget.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Mary Sypolt; one sister, Sarah Grace Fisher and two brothers, Timothy R. Sypolt, Sr. and Donald Lee "Scruffy" Sypolt.

Friends may call at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta on Monday, September 25, 2023, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, until the 12:00 p.m. time of service with Pastor Gina Frazee officiating.

To honor Hayseed's wishes, the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home in Terra Alta will provide cremation services.
