Obituary of Dortha Lucille Adams

Dortha Lucille Adams, 76, of Terra Alta died Wednesday November 2, 2022 at her home with family by her side. The daughter of the late W. Ray and Frances Lipscomb Freeland she was born November 29, 1945, in Terra Alta. She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Myers, and Paula (Scott) Shrout all of Terra Alta; a son-in-law, Bobby Durr of Terra Alta; two brothers, Arthur "Buddy" Freeland and Charles "Chuckie" Freeland, both of Terra Alta; two sisters, Ruth "Annie" Groves and Vikki Freeland, both of Terra Alta; 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren (with one on the way) and a special niece, Nancy Freeland, that she thought of as her own. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Adams; one son, James "Butch" Adams; a daughter, Karen "Kate" Durr; and two sisters, Carolyn "Carol" Johnson and Doris Lewis. Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta, on Friday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. and from noon on Saturday November 5, 2022, until the 2:00 p.m. time of service with Pastor Sam Moon officiating.
