Obituary of Catherine Virginia Bolyard

Catherine Virginia Bolyard,

95, of Eglon, passed away Saturday June 25, 2022 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

The daughter of the late William F. Huffman and Daisy E. Hall, she was born November 1, 1926 in Rowlesburg (Wotring Chapel).

Catherine was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother who always put her family first. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and sewing quilts.

She went back to school and got her GED and worked at Heartland as a nurse's aide.

She is survived by nine children, Dayton (Betty) Bolyard of Eglon, Arthur Nelson (Cathy) Bolyard of Jane Lew, Dwight (Shirley) Bolyard of Aurora, Mary (Terry) Harder of Attica, NY, Dorothy Bolyard of Rowlesburg, Raymond "Jack" (Debbie) Bolyard of Mt. Lake Park, Linda (Douglas) Snyder of Kincaid, WV, Cathy (Danny) Moats of Eglon, and Douglas (Tracey) Bolyard of Moatsville; 25 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two brothers, Foster Huffman of Terra Alta and Dale (Judy) Huffman of Morgantown; a sister, Elaine Snyder of Aurora.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A. Dayton Bolyard; a brother, William Arlin Huffman and two sisters, Jean Keller and Helen Nelson.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedisys for their special care.

Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta on Monday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 28, 2022, until the 11:00 a.m. time of service with Pastor Sam Moon officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Aurora.
