The Brand family send our heartfelt condolences to Joan, Jake's brothers and family. Jake went to school with our son and was like a second son to us for many years so our sorrow is very real. Jake's obituary totally captures the essence of Jake Pitzer. RIP sweet boy.

I am sending my deepest condolences to the Pitzer family. Throughout the years I wasn’t close with Jake as I was throughout elementary-high school years. I do feel grateful for the memories I do have with him years ago. He of course holds a very special place in my heart and will forever. Especially that smile and laugh of his! Again, my heart goes to the family & friends.

My heart aches for you and your family, Joan. With only brief musical moments with Jake, I can say that he was a shining light to so many. His great talent and good reputation spread well beyond what he even knew. Anywhere I was around music and his name came up, no one had to ask who he was. They simply expressed pleasantries of how they enjoyed any encounters with him or at least had heard of his talent. He will be missed.

Jake is and always will be a magical soul. He had what most of us don't, a magnet that drew people toward him. I know personally when I was around him I felt as if I was in the presence greatness....and I mean that in a very spiritual sense. He knew what to say to make you feel better and at ease. I also had the honor to know Keith and he had it too as does Joan. They are special in that they make you feel as if you mean something in this crazy world. I will miss him very much. I feel as if the world isn't the same without him in it. He is up there somewhere playing and picking music with his Dad, I'm sure of it.

My heart breaks for the family. Jake was always such a joy. His infectious smile, hie ornery giggle, his contagious laugh and his hugs. Jake never knew a stranger. He was such a hard worker with a big heart and so so many talents. May the heavens be filled with his beautiful talents as he sits upon a cloud beside his Dad and picks away.

To the Pitzer family I send my condolences for your loss. Jake had a big heart and was a joy to listen to when playing music and telling a story. He took care of my two older horses for some time up at the farm and for that I will be forever grateful to him.
