Obituary of Arthur Everett Strahin
Arthur E. "Sonny" Strahin, Sr.,
73, of Terra Alta, died Tuesday March 17, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.
The son of the late Charles A. and Edna L. Hershman Strahin, he was born July 20, 1946 in Terra Alta.
He was a member of Freeland United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam as a helicopter mechanic. He was a heavy equipment operator for Rockville Mining for 24 years. He owned and operated Fez's Gas Station in Terra Alta and worked at J&J Ford as an auto technician.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen A. Strahin; a son and spouse, Arthur E. Strahin Jr. and Dawn of Terra Alta; two daughters, Toni S. Custer of Oakland and Nicole Goss and husband Greg of Morgantown; three sisters and spouses, Pam and Lawrence McElroy of Centenary, Sheila and Mike Cupp of Kingwood and Carla and Tom Lillie of Terra Alta; seven grandchildren, Lee Custer, Todd (Bethany) Custer, Rachel Sines, Allison (Adam) Conner, Kasey Strahin, Maura Strahin, and Tristan Goss; and two great grandsons, Josiah Conner and Aven Custer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Strahin.
Due to this unknown time with the COVID-19 pandemic we will have a private family visitation and funeral service officiated by Rev. Eric Beeman and graveside military honors provided by the Preston County Honor Guard. The family realizes Arthur was loved by many and look forward to reading the condolences left on the Arthur H.
