Obituary of Bernice Alene Jones

Bernice Alene Jones, 91, of Terra Alta (Cranesville Community), died Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at home with family by her side. The daughter of the late Harold E. and Mary Ethel Locke Welsh, she was born July 3, 1928 in Youngstown, OH. She was a longtime resident of Herndon, VA and retired to Cranesville over 40 years ago. Bernice loved to grow flowers and watch the hummingbirds. She enjoyed word search, coloring and jigsaw puzzles. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Robert C. Jones; three daughters, Mary Ellen Harringer and husband Dennis of Kissimmee, FL, Connie L. DeWitt and husband Sandy R. of Cranesville and Barbara L. Jones of Terra Alta; seven grandchildren, David, Patrick and Susan D'Arcy, Robert and Phillip DeWitt and Nicholas and Zachary Simon; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Steven Jones and two sisters, Ethel Cramer and Leona Tate. Family and friends will be received at Hillcrest Chapel in Terra Alta on from 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2019 until the 1:00p.m. time of service with Barry Kirk officiating.
