Obituary of Hubert Allen DeWitt

Hubert Allen DeWitt,

81, of Kingwood, formerly of Patchogue, NY, died Tuesday February 12, 2019 at the home of his son in Kingwood, WV.

The son of the late Hamond Ray and Irene Callie Ringer DeWitt, he was born August 27, 1937 in Terra Alta, WV.

Hubert was a printer by trade. He enjoyed woodworking, small farming and growing vegetables. He was a lover of country music and loved to sing.

He is survived by one daughter and spouse, Christine and Danny Doscher of Patchogue, NY; three sons, Allen DeWitt and wife Grace of Mastic, MY, David DeWitt of West Babylon, NY and Raymond DeWitt and Ivalee Leo of Kingwood, WV; seven grandchildren: Marjorie, Justin, Michael, Micaela, Ethan, Amanda and Courtney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Rosemary Kellner DeWitt in 2008; three sisters, Beatrice Cramer, Edna Metheny and Pearl Kelley; one brother, Lewis DeWitt and five infants.

Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta on Friday February 15, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a scripture prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at a later date at Ruland Funeral Home in Patchogue, NY with burial at Pinelawn Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
